I was given an Our Generation Doll as a gift so I thought I would do a review for all those people out there that know nothing about them... like I did before I got mine. Apparently these dolls were recently on sale at the Target near where I live because thats how I got her. To make a long story short... this one was the only one left and looked lonely on the shelf, so someone was nice enough to buy her and think about me. :)
My Our Generation Doll is Jessica Anne. She isn't one of the ones that comes with extra accessories or a book... but of course that makes her price way cheaper. She has on an adorable purple outfit and comes with a matching purse.
I have to admit that I was expecting the worst. All I have ever heard about these dolls is that they are a knock-off version of American Girl dolls and since I love American Girl dolls I didn't have high hopes for this doll. Other words that I have heard to describe them are "cheap", "funny-looking"... you get the idea. But I am pleasantly surprised at how much I love this doll!! If you're expecting an American Girl doll then you will be disappointed but that doesn't mean that these dolls aren't great. I actually had someone tell me that I was going in reverse order because people usually buy OG dolls or other cheaper dolls first and then work their way up to AG dolls. But I thought of it in the opposite way. I have plenty of wonderful AG dolls but I never do too much with them because they are so nice. They are more like collectibles at this point because now that I spend my own money on them I know how much they can add up to be. So whats wrong with wanting a doll that I can actually play with and not be afraid to mess up?
Anyways... I think my OG doll is really cute. She looks nothing like AGs but thats not a bad thing. Her vinyl is softer and squishier which makes her fun to cuddle with. Her hair is rooted which I guess could be a bad thing for certain hairstyles but I've never been big on fixing my dolls' hair so it doesn't matter to me. OGs have a bunch of wonderful clothes and accessories and I will definitely be purchasing some in the future. I already know that I want the jeep, salon chair, and several of the cute outfits.
Anybody else have an Our Generation Doll? If you don't, you should definitely consider getting one next time you're thinking about getting a new doll. They are adorable and you can't beat the price. And next time that you see someone with an OG doll, don't assume that they only have it because they couldn't get an AG doll. Maybe.. like me... they have it because they actually like them as dolls. :) :) :)

Doll Shuffle
Its time for another doll shuffle. My American Girl dolls are starting to take over. As much as I love them... there are so many of them. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but there are SO many more that I still want. I was about to use my birthday money to buy a new doll when it occurred to me... where would I even put another doll? So I started asking myself if there were any dolls that weren't getting enough attention... or that I wouldn't be too sad if they moved on to a new home. So I ended up selling four so far (still on the fence about the tlc Molly doll). There are a couple of them that deserve a new home because they are not appreciated enough... and a couple that I will be sad to see go but I know they will get more attention at their new homes. The happy side is that it means I can get more of the dolls on my wish list without feeling guilty. I've already decided on two new dolls (I'm doing a doll swap... trading one of my dolls for someone elses.. and then also buying a practically brand new doll from that same person). Does anybody else ever do this... or am I just weird to keep trading in my dolls for new ones?

Logan
Logan, my newest Bitty Twin is here!! He is so adorable. I also bought some new (used) bitty clothes with some of the money that I got for my birthday. And I've still got enough birthday money left to order a new doll (or set of bitty twins). I've just got to decide which one to get. I also decided to narrow down my collection... which sadly means that I'm selling some of my dolls. As much as I hate to get rid of them, there are some of my dolls that don't get any attention.... so I would rather sell them to someone that would appreciate them more than I do. Plus it would give me more space (and money) for the other dolls that I really want.
Here is a picture of Logan showing off his new outfit:

Updates on TLC Dolls
I've been going back and forth on what I should do with my two TLC dolls. Half the time I wanted to keep then but then I would decided to not keep them in order to make more room for my new favorite kind of dolls (bitty twins!!!).
Well I found someone this week that wanted to trade the TLC Lindsey doll for a customized blonde haired, green eyed bitty twin!!! Although I'm sad to see Lindsey go, I'm so excited to be getting my second bitty twin! He should be here next week.
Now that Lindsey is on her way to her new home, poor Molly was sitting around by herself. I started feeling sorry for her and decided to get her dressed and let her hang out with my other dolls. I'm so surprised at how much better she looks just by getting dressed and fixing her hair. From a distance you can't even tell that she needs so much work. She actually fits in pretty well with my other dolls. So I kinda feel bad for wanting to get rid of her now. Should I leave her for sale or just keep her? I'll probably leave her for sale for a little longer and if nobody shows any interest in her then I'll keep her. She is very adorable but I would probably sell or trade her to the right person (especially if it meant another bitty twin).

I LOVE Bitty Twins!
I have another new addition to my doll family... a bitty twin! I never thought I would've bought a bitty twin. I've seen them on the American Girl website and on the catalogs but I usually just pass right by them. But now that I have my bitty twin I think they are the cutest dolls ever! I'm kinda obsessed with them and want them all. Here's how it all happened:
Last week I was browsing around on ebay because thats where I find a lot of my tlc dolls (the more pathetic they are, the better) and one of the dolls that came up in the search was this bitty twin. The description said that she was attacked by a dog that ended up ripping one of her arms off. As soon as I saw her I knew I had to have her.
She came in the mail a few days ago (I'm considering her another early birthday present). She had a big hole where her arm was suppose to be and her cloth body had some stains on it. I took her apart and cleaned her. I also sewed up the hole. I used colored thread so that it looks like she has stitches. Eventually I'm going to send her to the doll hospital to get her fixed but for now she's going to be an amputee.
I don't know why but for some reason I have instantly bonded with this doll. She is so adorable. And even though she is missing an arm and not all of the stains would come off her body, I think she's perfect. Now every time I see a bitty twin doll or a bitty twin outfit I want it. Bitty twins definitely don't get the appreciation that they deserve.

Happy (Early) Birthday to Me!
My birthday is in a couple of week and of course people are buying me doll stuff. But because I like pre-owned dolls, some of the stuff that was purchased off the internet for me has come in before my actual birthday... and people around here cannot keep a secret. So I already have one of my presents! I got Julie!!!! She is in wonderful condition and is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
